CARA Runners Choice Circuit Club Competition

Our team competes in the CARA Runners Choice Circuit Club Competition. Our team roster is submitted to CARA. After each Circuit Race, CARA matches our membership list to the race results. The top 3 or 5 runners from each team are awarded points in each of 9 categories. The Excel spreadsheet download on fasttrackracing.team website comes from CARA. The standings tab shows what place our team is currently in for the 9 categories after a particular circuit race. The other tabs show how the scores are tabulated including which team members scored for each category. Then in January there is an awards banquet where awards are given to teams who ended up in the top 3 of any or all categories. Individual awards are also given out at this banquet but you must be a CARA member to be eligible.

CARA Team Standings Legend

tsec = Total seconds (finish time)
Theo = Theoretical Time. Your finish time adjusted to that of an open division participant using a factor for age and gender. Thus, the times for women and older participants are adjusted downward, while the times for most open division participants (such as 25-year-old men) remain the same. Graded = Your Age-Graded score is the ratio of the approximate world-record time for your age and gender divided by your actual time. To score 1000 (sometimes publishes as 100%) as a 40-year-old man, you would need a time of 2:06:26.

The Total Seconds column is used to determine placing for all categories except "Combined". The Age Graded is used to determine places in the Combined category.

The Theoretical Time is just another output from the age-grading calculation but is not used.
